If you are experiencing blue or green water
Slightly blue or green water may be due to higher than usual levels of copper being present. This normally occurs following the installation of new copper pipework. Over time a protective layer should form inside the pipes and stop the discolouration from happening within a few days of the pipe’s installation.
On rare occasions, blue water may also be linked to blue coloured disinfectant in toilet cisterns. If a toilet cistern has been poorly installed, it’s possible that water can siphon back into the internal domestic plumbing. You should contact IWNL if you suspect this may be the cause and we will be able to inspect your plumbing for issues.
