Important Information – Stay water-wise in the heat

We are asking all customers to be careful with their water consumption and stay water-wise this week and over the weekend, to keep water flowing.

As the temperature has risen recently, we understand people will be using more water to stay hydrated. Whilst we are not in a draught situation, we are asking everyone to be vigilant when using water in the garden, and avoid unnecessary tasks such as cleaning cars, until the temperature begins to cool down.

By making some small changes, you can make a big different to reducing your water consumption. Take a look at some easy ways to stay water-wise by clicking here.

Many thanks. The IWNL team

COVID-19 Customer Information

IWNL is prioritising the work we undertake during COVID-19 to make sure you continue to receive a safe and reliable water supply, whilst ensuring we keep our customers and teams safe, and look after those most in need. If you see us near your home please be assured the work we are doing is important. Where applicable, we are asking customers some additional questions when we may need to enter premises to ensure we take any necessary precautions to keep everyone safe.

Looking after those most In need

If you are an ‘at risk’ person who has received a letter from the NHS advising you to take additional measures to protect yourself from COVID-19, then we suggest that you consider signing up for the Vulnerability Register. This provides free additional services to customers in vulnerable circumstances should there be any loss of service.

As the government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic develops, we are continuing to keep our approach under careful review. We will always take an approach which safeguards the health and wellbeing of our customers and colleagues, while maintaining a safe and reliable water supply.

Restarting water systems

During the lockdown period, many industrial units, construction sites and commercial buildings may have become vacant. Where drinking water supplies have not been in regular use, you must flush the system in order to maintain the standard and quality of your drinking water. Water systems should be flushed before a building or premises reopens through all points of use within the building including showers, toilets and sinks. For more information please click here.
